Canadian singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright is going to pay tribute to singer and actress Judy Garland in London next year.
The gig will take place at London's Palladium on February 18th and will recreate a gig Garland performed 46 years earlier in 1961.Wainwright has already successfully held two concerts earlier this year at New York's famed Carnegie Hall, where Garland had performed, releasing a live album from the show. At these shows he was backed by a 36 piece orchestra.
Garland played the London Palladium 68 times during her career before her death at 47 in 1969.
Wainwright will be wearing clothes specifically designed for the event by Dutch designers Viktor and Rolf.
Most people would know Judy Garland as the role as Dorothy Gale in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, where she sang one of her best known songs, 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'.
