The statement at The Boxmasters official website reads, Unfortunately, The Boxmasters had to cancel the remainder of the Canadian dates with Willie Nelson and Ray Price, including Montreal and London, due to one band member and several of the crew having the flu.
They are kidding, right? Illness? Does Billy Bob Thornton really have his head so far up his own arse that he thinks he can spin his way out of his current mess, just as they do in Hollywood?Billy Bob needs to learn and learn fast that he is playing by a whole different set of rules in a band. He seems happy to use his Hollywood clout to order people around and hey, that may be how it works in Hollyweird but in a band, it is about the music and Billy Bob needs to pull his head in if he wants to continue in his band.
Of course, he didn’t. He only made matters worse after his childish tantrum on Canadian radio last Wednesday when he then went on to insult Canadians calling them mashed potato without the gravy.
At his show the following night at Massey Hall in Toronto, he was booed off stage and the next day the tour was cancelled ... but for illness. Billy?
Good lawdy, BBT, can you come up with a better spin for leaving Canada other than stating one of your band was ill?
This is Hollyweird arrogance at its finest.
Billy Bob Thornton is a big star. His band The Boxmasters are not. The Boxmasters get noticed because of their big star lead singer but Mr. Hollyweird will crack the shits if your refer to his real job in an interview.
Billy Bob Thornton has become a liability for The Boxmasters.
What an arsehole and what a pathetic attempt to even have the hide to claim illness is the cause of the cancellation of the Canadian tour.
Billy Bob doesn’t want to be an actor when he is in a band but is comfortable using every Hollywood trick to spin a story his way.
It is now time for a laugh, at Billy’s expense. Check out these send-ups
