Bluesfest have announced national sideshows for Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band, Blind Boys of Alabama, Aaron Neville, Mavis Staples and Irma Thomas.
The talent is on display at Bluesfest but now fans will get to see superb music in venues around the nation.
It’s a bounty of riches, so let’s start with the double bill of Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. It’s sure to be a masterclass in guitar, Trucks and Randolph both hitting the stage with Eric Clapton at various points in their illustrious careers.
Then there’s the inimitable double bill of gospel goodness, featuring the equally legendary Blind Boys Of Alabama with Aaron Neville, and Mavis Staples.
And finally, Irma Thomas, the Soul Queen of New Orleans, will wow fans on her first ever tour of Australia, performing the songs that others made hits, like ‘Time Is On My Side’ and ‘Pain In My Heart’.
Most tickets are available through the Bluesfest website, Ticketek or the venues.
