Animated hip-hop experimentalists Gorillaz will be brought to life in a new DVD titled 'Phase Two - Slowboat To Hades'.
The brainchildren of Tank Girl artist Jamie Hewlett and Blur frontman Damon Albarn, Gorillaz were a particularly audio-visual concept from the get go. After the "group" released 'Phase One - Celebrity Takedown', Gorillaz follow up their hugely successful 'Demon Days' album of 2005 with all the accompanying multi-media, award-winning videos, "live" performances, shirt films, their appearance on MTV Cribs, plus acceptance speeches and more on 'Phase Two - Slowboat To Hades'.The DVD will be accompanied by a CD Rom which promises a library of wallpapers and screensavers, and computer games where high scores will open up hidden extras. The DVD is slated for a November release.
Gorillaz "singer" 2D said about the band upon the release, "In all honesty we're the most original and exciting thing to hit the world of entertainment since the stick and the hoop."
The DVD follows the announcement of the bands autobiography 'Rise Of The Ogre', an illustrated book which details the lives of the four members and will also be released in November.
