Mishka, the first singing to Matthew McConaughey`s label J.K. Livin, is also heard in McConaughey`s 2008 movie `Surfer Dude`.
“There are two tracks. In the middle of the film and one at the end when the credits roll up,” Miskha tells Undercover News. “The one in the middle of the film I kind of wrote for the film but it is also autobiographical as well. I am a windsurfer so I have a great love and appreciation for the ocean. I know what it is like when the wind stops blowing and the waves stop moving. It is the same situation that happens to the guy in the film. The sea is flat for months and he gets kind of depressed about that. I could relate to the script”.‘Surfer Dude’ surfaced last year with McConaughey starring alongside Wood Harrelson and Willie Nelson.
McConaughey played Steve Addington, the world’s biggest surfer but goes into meltdown with the Pacific Ocean goes calm and the waves disappear. The lack of surfing drains him and his finances and he starts to lose his self-respect.
Okay, so it wasn’t Matthew’s finest moment.
Mishka will head to Australia next week to perform at the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival at Byron Bay over Easter and perform shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
His new album ‘Above The Bones’ is out now on J.K. Livin through Universal.
