Just who the hell is Amanda Blank, and how has she managed to wrangle so many guests on her upcoming debut?
You might recognise her from collaborations with Plastic Little, Ghostface Killah, M.I.A., Santogold, and Teki Latex, or maybe even a remix of the Britney track ‘Gimme More’, but Blank has never released an album.That is, of course, until her slightly delayed debut comes out on July 14 in the US of A (or around then for the rest of the world). This album, tittilatingly titled ‘I Love You’, features the likes of Diplo, Switch and XXXChange on production duties and Spank Rock, Lykke Li, The Cool Kids and Santigold lending their talents to the project.
Blank started life in the Philly based band Sweatheart and now she’s a shit-hot underground rapper but the middle step seems a little unclear. Either way, this album looks to be a corker.
It will be released through Downtown Music.
