Charles Edward Anderson Berry, better known as "Chuck" Berry celebrated his 80th birthday last week with a special gig in his hometown of St. Louis.
The gig was preceded by a letter from Bill Clinton being read out (not by Bill himself) which wished him a happy birthday and said he's been a fan of the rock 'n' roll superstar for half a century.Later in the set, Aerosmith's Joe Perry joined the eccentric rocker on stage for one song.
The gig saw Berry revisit a number of his classics, including Johnny B. Goode and Sweet Little Sixteen.
Berry is arguably the most influential musician in rock 'n' roll history, with his songs being covered by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones just to name a few, and his famous "bit", the duck walk, was famously ripped off by Angus Young from AC/DC.
