The Webb Sisters, Charley and Hattie, are worth checking out.
If you saw any of the recent Leonard Cohen shows, that was Charley and Hattie on stage in his band as the backing singers.Last night, the British Music Embassy had their private party to launch British acts at SXSW in Austin and the Webb Sister were a real surprise.
The sister play unusual instruments, such as the harp, but have played to some impressive faces in the audience. They have twice played for Princess Anne and once for the Queen (not last night at SXSW by the way. I think the Queen might have been rocking out back home at Buckinghuge Palace).
The first major release from The Webb Sisters was Daylight Crossing and they have a limited edition EP ‘Comes In Twos’ only available on the Leonard Cohen tour.
The Webb Sisters will play at midnight Thursday at Creekside at the Hilton Garden Inn in Austin.
