Country star Keith Urban admitted letting his guard down, and has gone back into rehab.
In a statement released on Saturday via Urban's record label, it was announced that the platinum country star and new husband of glamour actress Nicole Kidman voluntarily admitted himself to arehab centre on Friday after a lapse in sobriety.
Urban's battle with drugs and alcohol in the late-'90s has been well documented, but his recovery in a rehab clinic in Nashville in 1998 actually kicked off his broader success. According to the press release, Urban said, "One can never let one's guard down on recovery and I'm afraid that I have." While he has slipped, the statement stresses that his wife and family are behind him. "With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome."
Unfortunately for his fans, all immediate promotion for his new album 'Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing' has had to be postponed, including his Australian visit which was to see him perform at the ARIAs.
