Metallica will perform on Friday night in Austin for SXSW.
Austin Powell of the Austin Chronicle has reported the metal superband will perform the showcase gig for Guitar Hero at Stubbs, the outdoor big backyard venue.2,100 people can squeeze into Stubbs.
SXSW founder Roland Swenson has confirmed that the cat is out of the bag. “He didn’t get it from us,” Swenson told the Chronicle. “We were told not to confirm anything and we’re sticking by that.”
Admission to the gig will be limited to SXSW registrants and if space is available, then wristband holders.
SXSW Music starts Wednesday March 18 in Austin, Texas.
