John Farnham returned to the stage today with Coldplay as his backing band.
The Aussie legend was lending his support for Sound Relief, the benefit concert for Victoria bushfire and Queensland flood victims.Coldplay opened the event from the Sydney Cricket Ground and after a few songs, Farnham joined them to sing his signature tune ‘You’re The Voice’.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome to sing the Australian national anthem, John Farnham,” Coldplay’s Chris Martin announced as Farnham joined the band. ‘You’re The Voice’ was that anthem.
Coldplay opened the show with ‘Viva La Vida’ and then the Coldplay breakthrough hit ‘Yellow’.
The shows, being held simultaneously in Sydney and Melbourne, are expected to raise $5 million.
