The latest story doing the rounds is that John Farnham will return to the stage from semi-retirement to perform his classic You’re The Voice backed by Coldplay.
Kathy McCabe from the Daily Telegraph got the scoop and spread the news in today’s paper.Coldplay will open the Sydney Sound Relief event next Saturday (March 14) with a full band performance and it now sounds like Jack’s back as well.
Farnham hasn’t performed live since the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Sound Relief was announced at a press conference in Melbourne featuring Victorian premier John Brumby and Michael Gudinski with Nic Cester from Jet, Mark Seymour from Hunters & Collectors, Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother, Tim Finn from Split Enz and Kasey Chambers.
Money raised will go to the Victoria Bush Fire victims and those effected by the recent Queensland floods.
Appearing at the Melbourne show are Augie March, Bliss N Eso with Paris Wells, Gabriella Cilmi, Hunters & Collectors, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson with Troy Cassar-Daley, Jack Johnson, Jet, Kings Of Leon, Liam Finn, Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Split Enz and Wolfmother.
Sydney has Architecture in Helsinki, Coldplay, Eskimo Joe, Hoodoo Gurus, Icehouse, Jet, Josh Pyke, Little Birdy, Taylor Swift, The Presets, Wolfmother, You Am I.
Undercover reported earlier in the week that Barry Gibb will also perform at the Sydney show with a set of appropriate Bee Gees songs including ‘Tragedy’ and ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’.
