Brisbane four-piece Blame Ringo has scored itself a viral hit after making the video for their latest song at the famed Abbey Road pedestrian crossing.
The ‘Garble Arch’ video was shot at the very same crossing you know so well from the Abbey Road album cover. The Abbey Road crossing is a popular stopover for Beatles fans whenever they visit London. The address is 3 Abbey Road, St. John’s Wood.
Named after the 5th Beatles Ringo Starr (well, Pete Best REALLY was the 4th Beatle), the band state they were originally called Goodnight Vienna but had to change their name because Ringo Starr threatened legal action because the name was his intellectual property because he had an album in the 70s called Goodnight Vienna. (That by the way is unconfirmed but a great story anyway).
If they could not be called Goodnight Vienna, they decided to call themselves after something Ringo had no control over, the common use Blame Ringo.
The band’s new album is called ‘Lucky Number 9’.
