Two members of Brisbane band Flannelette died in a tragic accident on the Pacific Highway in the early hours of this morning (May 28, 2011).
The band had played at The Beenleigh Tavern on the Gold Coast last night competing in the Loud Fest Semi Finals. They were driving back to Brisbane along the Pacific Highway at around 2.45am this morning when their van was rear-ended by a semi trailer.
Police have confirmed that two men aged 23 and 24 and a woman aged 33 were killed in the accident. The men died at the scene. The woman was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital but died later.
The driver of the van, a male aged 27 was taken to Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-trailer received minor injuries and was treated at Logan Hospital.
Police have not released the names of the people in the accident.
Flannelette were a young, new band from the Brisbane suburb of Camp Hill. They formed in 2010.
