Pop star Chris Brown says he is saddened and sorry following last week`s assault on his celebrity pop star girlfriend Rihanna.
In a statement issued via his publicist Michael Sitrick, Brown says, “"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person”.He also claims that a lot of what we have read to date is inaccurate. "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and-or reported in the media is wrong," he says, referring to a story claiming that me made a comment on Facebook. “Those posts or writings under my name are frauds," he said.
Brown bashed Rihanna on the way home from a pre-Grammy party last weekend. Rihanna, who was due to perform at the Grammy Awards that night, had to cancel her performance because her face was bruised and her lip cut.
Brown handed himself into police the next day and was later released on $50,000 bail.
He has not yet been charged. Police are investigating the allegations.
