Madonna is officially a MILF, and by that we mean Madonna is loaded and filthyrich, not what your dirty mind was thinking.
The material girl pocketed a grubby $242,176,466 last year making her the biggest moneymaker of 2008, according to Billboard.Madonna’s enormous payday was made up of a $120 million advance she received from Live Nation for a 10-year deal. Therefore, amortising that over that time would change the ranking somewhat and push her down to number three behind Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen.
By including the advance as part of last years tally, Madonna should show a nil income for 2009, as the advance will soak up any money from 2009.
The revenue figures for music artists are now showing that the money is in the ticket, not the album. Look at position 17. Journey made $44 million last year and sold 588,000 albums.
