70s singer songwriter Albert Hammond says he wouldn`t mind recording a duet with his son Albert Hammond Jr.
The elder Hammond was the guy who wrote and had hits with ‘It Never Rains In Southern California’, ‘The Free Electric Band’ and ‘Down By The River’.He also wrote ‘The Air That I Breathe’ for The Hollies, ‘When I Need You’ for Leo Sayer, ‘To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before’ for Willie Nelson and Starship’s ‘Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now’.
Albert Hammond Jr is the guitarist with The Strokes.
In an interview with British newspaper The Independent, Hammond Sr said “I’m truly exited at the moment because The Strokes are going into the studio for the first time in two and a half years next week. I can’t wait to see what they come out with. My all time dream is to take to the stage just father and son. Perhaps one day he might even like to write a song with me."
Other Albert Hammond songs include ‘Through The Storm’ by Aretha Franklin & Elton John and ‘Careless Heart’ by Roy Orbison.
The elder Hammond still records. His last album was ‘Revolution of the Heart’ in 2005.
