David Bowie has returned to the city that inspired three of his greatest albums, Berlin, to work on new material.
In a twitter message, Bowie said to fans “Cheers from a snowy Berlin! Working on some new material!”Bowie’s albums ‘Low’ (1977), ‘Heroes’ (1977) and ‘Lodger’ (1979) are commonly referred to as the “Berlin Trilogy,” and were all heavily influenced by German music at the time. While ‘Low’ and ‘Lodger’ were partly recorded in Berlin, ‘Heroes’ is the only album fully recorded in the city.
They were all produced by Tony Visconti, and all featured the work of Brian Eno on various instruments as well.
Bowie’s last album was ‘Reality’ in 2003.
