The Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan is off on a little road trip with James McMurtry.
McMurtry and band have just left for their first European tour and have recruited the legendary McLagan to twinkle keys on the tour.James McMurtry is touring support in support of his new album ‘Just Us Kids’.
The Texan musician was born in Fort Worth, Texas and now lives in Austin. Every week he is in Austin, he plays on Wednesday nights at the Continental Club.
English born McLagan also now lives in Austin. He was a member of the Small Faces that morphed into the Faces when Rod Stewart joined the band in 1969.
The Faces are expected to announce reunion shows for this year shortly.
McLagan is scheduled to play at SXSW in Austin again in March. It is an annual event for him. While a longshot, The Faces are rumored to play SXSW this year as well.
McMurtry and McLagan will perform in Berlin tonight.
