Mike Skinner aka The Streets tells of the shoddy rapping on his latest b-side, and how Carl Jung helped.
It all began when Skinner decided that his rapping on the b-side 'Dreams' wasn't clear enough. The Cockney rap sensation said on his blog that he called his manager to ask him to recall all the singles, plus "remove the download from iTunes and ask if all 38 million people with it in their Limewire directory could delete the file and await the new remastered version with clearer words." Unsurprisingly, his manager laughed. But that night, Skinner said that he dreamt that he was in a classroom with British agony aunt Claire Rayner, gardening show presenter Alan Titchmarsh and pre-historic cartoon housewife Wilma Flintstone, all being taught the finer points of rapping by none other than Swiss analytical psychologist Carl Jung.
The solution came to him: write out the lyrics on the blog so that his fans can comprehend online what they might not have been able to on mp3 or CD. The chorus can be found on www.the-streets.co.uk as well as more strange ramblings.
