New Zealand scored the first Arctic Monkeys show in over a year last night.
Performing some old favourites to a packed crowd in Wellington, they also treated their Kiwi fans to four new songs. They previewed the new tracks - 'Dangerous Animals', 'Pretty Visitors' and 'Crying Lightning' to the sold-out audience at the city's Town Hall.
Some of new material saw the band using a little toy piano and a slide guitar.
Opening with former B-side Da Frame 2R, frontman Alex Turner said: "Hello everyone, this is our first gig for about a year, so you might have to bear with us."
Sipping a cocktail, Turner added that he was playing a "new one with a Les Paul" before performing 'Go-Kart'.
The band used a toy piano and a slide guitar for some of the new material and they also covered Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds' Red Right Hand.
The Sheffield band have been recording their new and highly-anticipated third album with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme.
On a break from the studio, the band will play two more dates in New Zealand - The Powerstation in Auckland on Thursday and the Big Day Out on Friday.
