Alex Turner, frontman for Arctic Monkeys, is set to release an EP of soundtrack tunes.
Turner wrote original songs for a new film called Submarine, adapted from Joe Dunthorne’s novel of the same name.
The film is the feature-length debut for British director Richard Ayoade, who directed several Arctic Monkeys clips, and is set to be released in the UK on March 18.
Turner’s Submarine EP features six new songs and will be available as a CD and a digital download on the same day, Friday March 18.
Arctic Monkeys are working on their fourth album, with producer James Ford, who co-produced both 2007’s Favourite Worst Nightmare and 2009’s Humbug.
It’s due for release in the Northern Hemisphere’s summer.
