Led Zep singer Robert Plant has been honored by the Queen.
Robert Plant has been named a CBE in honour his services to music.The former Led Zeppelin star sold more than 200 million albums with the band, who formed in 1968 and split 12 years later.
Plant has since found solo fame, winning a Mercury Music Prize nomination this year for Raising Sand, his collaboration with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss.
Although Led Zeppelin reformed for a one-off show last year, the Worcestershire-born singer has refused to take part in further reunions.
But the band are rumoured to be rehearsing with a replacement for a 2009 tour.
The New Year Honours list, announced today, also named jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine as a CBE.
