Anthony Kiedis Suffers Kidney Failure

The reason for the lack of activity from Red Hot Chili Peppers` this year may have been because singer Anthony Kiedis was battling kidney disease.

The story is unconfirmed except from the infamous newspaper “source” who tells the London Sun “his health was pretty bleak”.

True or false, Kiedis has been out of the spotlight for pretty much all of 2008.

The last Chili Peppers album ‘Stadium Arcadium’ was only two years ago, so the reason for his absence could also be a very well earned holiday.

If Kiedis really was sick he deserves a spot in the Guinness Book of Records for being the first celebrity to get in and out of hospital without TMZ noticing.

Considering The Sun has Kiedis on death’s door, his near-corpse did a remarkable job of surfacing in May, when he explained that the band had “disbanded for the moment”.

Chad Smith didn’t share the opinion. In September he said the best Chili Peppers work was yet to come.

Flea said recently that the band was just taking two years off.

Don’t expect the Chili Peppers to surface in 2009. Flea will be touring with the reformed Faces on their reunion tour next year. That has the potential to be the biggest event of 2009.
