Britney Spears` `Circus` album has almost doubled the first week sales of her last album `Blackout`.
‘Circus’ has sold 505,000 units in America in the last week compared to 289,712 units in the first week for last year’s ‘Black Out’.‘Black Out’ went on to sell 897,191 units.
‘Circus’ is Britney’s 6th album after ...Baby One More Time (1999); Oops!... I Did It Again (2000); Britney (2001); In The Zone (2003) and Blackout (2007).
To date, she has clocked up sales of 62 million albums worldwide.
Her ‘The Circus Starring Britney Spears’ tour will start in New Orleans on March 3, 2009.
