This weekend, the state of Victoria will be holding council elections. The one to watch will be the Port Phillip election because of the political hot potato The St. Kilda Triangle.
Local media identity Serge Thomann is running for a seat in Port Phillip because he is sick of the lies of local politicians regarding the St Kilda Triangle. What is worse, some of the liars are back on the ballot, so it is important for the local residents to think carefully when voting tomorrow for Part Phillip.
In the case of St Kilda, the lies of the local politicians has impacted on the country. St Kilda is Melbourne’s core entertainment zone. The destruction of the heritage of the area has taken away something from all Australians, not just the local residents.
Some pollies think it is more important to rip down a 100+ year old heritage and replace it with apartment blocks.
When the vocal Unchain St Kilda group, lead by Thomann, started to be heard by the locals, what happened? Well, one of the buildings, The Palace nightclub, “accidentally” burned to the ground.
Isn’t it funny how The Palace was situated on the very same spot where these politicians wanted to build the apartment block?
Isn’t it funny how no-one has ever been charged over that matter! Just an observation!
In Port Phillip, the question when you go to vote tomorrow is “who can you trust”.
You can trust Serge Thomann in Catani.
You can trust David Carter in Carlisle
You can trust Anna Griffiths in Junction
You can trust Jane Touzeua in Port Ormond
You can trust Richard Roberts in Sandridge
Thomann is one of Australia’s best known entertainment photographers. Michael Hutchence got him his first big job, on the road with INXS.
Yothu Yindi singer Mandawuy Yundupingu honoured him by making Serge a blood brother. Serge’s Aboriginal name is Gutjuk, meaning hawk.
Mandawuy recognised Serge’s sharp vision and ‘Don’t be afraid of the fire’ attitude.
The people of Port Phillip have a major issue to face in the local elections. Try and think about the heritage of the region when casting your vote.
