New York`s M-LAB debuted songs from their forthcoming album during a showcase performance at the famed Mercury Lounge in New York Monday night.
The band, featuring Drew Brody, Mike White and Derek Gregor, have just wrapped up work on the next album. The album currently has the working title 'A Bold and Hopeful Spark'. It is a line from the song 'Shot In The Dark.They took to the Mercury Lounge stage to give fans a preview of what they can expect.
M-LAB’s sound is flavoured in the theatrical. The band’s Derek Gregor is co-writer of the soon for Broadway musical ‘Unlock’d’ and the band’s uses those influences to create its big sound, reminiscent of the production styling of Jim Steinman (Bat Out Of Hell). The setlist featured the new songs from the album, as well as the band's traditional closer 'To Be There', from their first album 'From Baser Elements'.
