Lime Spiders will reunite for three shows leading into Christmas and there is a new member.
The new drummer is a guy named Corben, Tom Corben to be precise. The surname is familiar to Spiders fans. Tom’s dad Ged is the bands guitarist.Original bass player Tony Bambach will be back too.
Lime Spiders formed in Sydney in 1979. The band were regulars on the pub circuit with The Sunnyboys, Hoodoo Gurus and The Scientists and quickly became beacons of Sydney’s post-punk movement.
While Lime Spiders never had a hit, they did have a song of the Young Einstein soundtrack which is just as good.
The Lime Spiders shows will be:
December 18, Wollongong, Harp Hotel
December 19, Manly, Manly Fishes Club
December 20, Sydney, Annandale Hotel
