Pink is blitzing AC/DC in the sales department with `Funhouse` overtaking `Black Ice` this week in Australia.
‘Funhouse’ has now sold 174,860 units ahead of ‘Black Ice’ on 162,458, although the AC/DC album has been out for one week longer.‘Funhouse’ did 32,217 units in Australia this week outselling ‘Black Ice’ more than 2 to 1 with 15,301 sales.
The real surprise is still Kings of Leon ‘Only By The Night’ which has now sold more than 200,000 units in Australia and this week sold an extra 21,100 units.
‘Black Ice’ lost the top spot in the USA last week after two weeks on top. The ‘Twister’ soundtrack took the top spot even though the movie is yet to debut in cinemas.
In the UK, ‘Black Ice’ departed the Top 10 this week.
AC/DC had a magnificent marketing blitz behind its release. The downside of that though is that everyone has heard and acted the message in the first three weeks.
