Country superstar Merle Haggard is back home after undergoing lung surgery.
Haggard was operated on at a Bakersfield hospital last Monday after it was discovered that he had non-small cell lung cancer.According to a statement from his management company, the affected tissue was removed from the upper lobe of his right lung.
When Haggard regained consciousness after the operation, doctors say that the first thing he did was yodel.
"Due to the surgeon, Dr. Peck, the Tylenol pushers on the fourth floor of the Memorial Hospital, and most of all, my wife Theresa, I'm feeling good... better and better each day," says Haggard. "If not for the love and wisdom of my wife, I might not be around today."
Haggard adds, "I'd sure like to know who controls the largest shares of Tylenol. God forbid it be the oil companies!"
