The official countdown to the release of Guns n` Roses long-awaited `Chinese Democracy` album has began with the title track now being streamed from the GnR website.
A countdown clock counting down to November 23rd is on the site. That is the American release date. In Australia, the album will be released on November 22nd.The project is being championed by uber-manager Irving Azoff. In a statement, he and co-manager Andy Gould said, “"The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock n' roll. We're launching with a monumental campaign developed by Gary Arnold and the Best Buy team that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. Guns N’ Roses fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning.”
The release of the title track should put to rest for fans concerned that the new Guns n’ Roses is not really G n’ R but an Axl Rose solo project using the name. Actually, it is both. There are no original Guns in Guns n’ Roses, only the original Rose, but the sound has been maintained.
Two previous tracks have already been dropped into the market. ‘Shackler’s Revenge’ was put out through the game Rock Band 2 and ‘If I Could’ is heard in the closing credits for the new Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe movie ‘Body of Lies.
The 14 track album was produced by Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo and is being released through Universal Music on Axl’s new indie label Black Frog.
The album will be released in three formats. CD, vinyl (with bonus downloads) and as a digital download.
