Showtime has ordered two more seasons of Dexter.
After the rating success of Season 3, which debuted three weeks ago in the USA, Showtime has ordered a forth and fifth season of the gory serial killer drama.Dexter stars Michael C. Hall of Six Feet Under fame.
“Dexter’s enormous success is a tribute to the great achievements of its cast, the producing team, the author of the original book, and the gifted Michael C. Hall," said Robert Greenblatt, President of Showtime. "I thought at best we would attract a devoted cult audience but soon realized that, ironically, this show is so thematically rich and layered with humanity that audiences of all kinds have flocked to it."
The DVD release of the show has become the biggest selling title for Showtime ever.
Dexter won an Emmy for Best Drama Series last year.
Week one of season three had an audience of 3 million.
