Amy Winehouse and Thom Yorke top Influential guide

The Evening Standard today launches its second Influentials guide. The magazine celebrates the 1000 people who are doing most to shape and change London.

Performers and luminaries from all branches of the music industry are represented in the Evening Standard list. Newcomers to the top 5 most influential people in music in London in 2008 are Antonio Pappano, Music Director at the Royal Opera House, Simon Fuller, CEO of 19 Entertainment and Roger Wright, Controller of Radio 3 and BBC Proms. They are joined by Lucian Grainge, Chair and CEO of Universal Music Group International and newcomers to the Influentials list Coldplay - Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.

Popular music influencers Madonna, Mark Ronson, Damon Albarn, Simon Cowell, Sir Mick Jagger and Sir Paul McCartney also feature on the list.

Tony Hall, CEO of The Royal Opera House, Thomas Ades, composer and conductor, Sir Nicholas Kenyon, Director of The Barbican, Graham Sheffield, Artistic director of the Barbican and Jude Kelly, Artistic director of the South Bank Centre are just a few of the names which are also listed.

Notable newcomers to the list of 50 most influential in various genres of music in London are:
