Aussie sensations Wolfmother have cancelled the last six dates of their world tour due to birth of a baby boy.
The band's bass player and keyboardist Chris Ross was surprised to find that his partner was due to give birth prematurely. Stuck in Chicago, he quickly hopped on a plane in the hope that he would be at his partner's bedside in Sydney. A press release reports that he was somewhere over Hawaii when she gave birth to a new cub for the Wolfmother family, his son emerging almost a month ahead of schedule. While hearty congratulations are in order for Ross, his son's arrival has put Wolfmother's current plans for world domination on hold. The sold out show at the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday September 28 has had to be rescheduled to December 12. Their scheduled performances at San Diego's Viejas Concert In The Park series and San Francisco's Download Festival will have to be abandoned, but the fuzz rockers pledged to return to both cities.
The band will take a break throughout October for Ross to enjoy some time with the new member of his family before heading back to the US in late November and December.
