Chris Martin has announced that there will be more new Coldplay music before Christmas.
Speaking on the BBC to REM’s Michael Stipe, Martin said that the band will release the EP ‘Prospects March’ later this year.He also said that there will be a new Coldplay album by the end of 2009.
Coldplay recorded more songs than they used for the current ‘Viva La Vida’ album. One of those songs was a duet with Kylie Minogue titled ‘Luna’.
‘Luna’ will most likely feature on the EP.
The song did not make the ‘Viva La Vida’ album because it was starkly different from the rest of the album, but in the stand alone EP format will fit nicely as an introduction to the fans.
‘Prospects March’ will be released on December 26.
