Brisbane will play host to the world`s music industry next Tuesday when the Big Sound 2008 Music Industry Summit gets underway in Fortitude Valley.
Jonathan Poneman, CEO & co-founder of Sub Pop Records will present the first keynote interview. Seattle based Sub Pop brought the world Nirvana and Mudhoney, The Shins and Band of Horses. Poneman will go through the rollercoaster ride of the Independent music label."I urge you to make use of Big Sound in whatever way you see fit. Whether it is attending the showcases to discover new talent. Whether it is networking to further your own business. Whether it is doing a major international deal. Whether it is just learning from the panel sessions. Think of Big Sound as your event and contribute," Program Director Stephen Green says.
Big Sound will also feature showcases each night from acts such as Dappled Cities, The Red Paintings, The Boat People, Melanie Horsnell and The Gin Club.
Big Sound 2008 is on from September 10-12, 2008.
