The next big AC/DC announcement will most likely be the unveiling of the world tour.
We know it will start in Wilkes Barre, PA in October.AC/DC will lap the map pretty much across 2009, with Australian dates expected to be announced for early 2009.
Every AC/DC show is expected to be greatest hits plus a few new ones.
Although it is the greatest hits, it is amazing how many classic songs AC/DC can leave out of a setlist and still have a show where you know every song. ‘Jailbreak’ and ‘It's a Long Way To The Top’ were all interesting omissions last time around. Maybe they will sneak back in for this tour.
Just for the hell of it, let’s revisit the setlist from the band’s 2001 Australian tour. The current album of the day was ‘Stiff Upper Lip’, but only the title track made the setlist.
Here is how it looked at Rod Laver Arena in February 11, 2001. In 2008, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was pretty much the same songs in a different order with ‘Rock N Roll Train’ plus one or two more from ‘Black Ice’ added.
By the way, the support band for this show was The Living End.
