The funeral for soul legend Isaac Hayes will be held in Memphis on Monday August 18.
Hayes died from a stroke at his home in Memphis on August 10.His funeral will be held at 11am on Monday at the Presbyterian Church, 8500 Walnut Grove, Cordova, Tennessee.
Hayes is survived by his wife of three years Adjowa Hayes, and their two-year-old son Kwadjo Hayes, ten children ' Jacqueline Fields, Felecia Hayes Fisher, Veronica Hayes, Vincent Hayes, Melanie Hayes, Nikki McGhee, Heather Hayes, Isaac Hayes III, Darius Caston and Lillian Bryant '14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Hayes son Isaac III is a producer who works under the name Dirty Ike.
Speaking to allhiphop.com, Dirty Ike said, "I also want to thank all of my peers and music industry colleagues who have reached out to express their love and prayers. I`m sad, I`m angry, I`m happy all at once right now. I have so many memories of being my father`s son. Little things that make all the difference. Things that help me maintain right now. I can`t be too sad though. My father did great, great things as a musician, humanitarian, a father and a black man."
