Jerry Wexler, one of the founders of Atlantic Records and producer of albums by Aretha Franklin, Robert Flack, Bob Dylan and Dire Straits, has died from congenital heart disease at his home in Sarasota, Florida.
In 1953, Wexler teamed up with brothers Ahmet and Neshui Ertegun and created Atlantic Records. The label became one of the biggest labels in the world with acts as diverse as Ray Charles to Led Zeppelin.Wexler left Atlantic in 1975 to move to Warner Brothers Records and produced Dire Straits `Communique` album.
He was also behind Bob Dylan`s two Christian albums `Slow Train Coming` and `Saved`.
Wexler will be remembered as one of the greatest record producers of all-time.
