Warrnambool rock pigs Airbourne return from LA with an album in the can and a national tour.
Those who have caught Australia's hottest emerging rock act over the last two years, as the four boys moved from their coastal home in Victoria's South-West to Melbourne, have been spreading the word about their electrifying stage antics.Much hyped in the underground rock scene, Airbourne (and specifically the over the top cavorting of vocalist guitarist Joel O'Keefe) have divided audiences. But those wanting straight-up pub rock with panache and passion have ignored the AC/DC comparisons and enjoyed the ride.
The band are rumoured to have signed a five album deal with Capitol Records in the US last year, and have just finished recording their debut album in Los Angeles after three months of writing and playing (including support slots with The Rolling Stones and Motley Crue).
Airbourne are back in Australia to do a national tour in November and December, hopefully with the album released in Summer.
