Sydney`s Acer Arena has been named the number 3 venue on planet Earth according to Billboard magazine.
The venue, which has been home to the Eagles, Rod Stewart, Iron Maiden, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Celine Dion, and Maroon 5 in recent years, is ranked behind O2 Arena in London and Madison Square Garden in New York.“The ranking confirms our position in the arena market and we are proud of our place on the world stage,” David Humphreys, Acer Arena General Manager said in a statement. “Looking to the future it is as bright as one would hope. We have confirmed concert dates from Andrea Bocelli, Stevie Wonder, John Mellencamp/Sheryl Crow, Billy Joel, Panic at the Disco, Italian pop sensation Eros Ramazzotti, Judas Priest, Hi-5, Slipknot, Dora the Explorer, Def Leppard/Cheap Trick & Jumpmania (Monster Trucks) all before the end of the year, and there is more to be announced”.
Acer Arena is owned by the New South Wales government and leased to PBL Media.
