90s boy band CDB is back together and recording for Universal Music.
Gary Pinto, Andrew De Silva, Brad Pinto and Danny Williams have reunited and will soon release `The Funk Sessions`.CDB recorded two albums in the 90s but broke up after the release of `Lifted` in 1997 after Gary Pinto left the band.
After CDB, all members remained active in the industry. Brad Pinto co-wrote "I Am Tha One" with Mr Timothy, Andrew De Silva co-wrote/Produced songs for Ricki Lee, Jessica Mauboy, Natalie Bathingswaite and Gary Pinto co-wrote songs for Guy Sebastian, Anthony Callea and Mr Timothy including the theme song for World Youth Day 2008 “Receive The Power” which he performed live together with Guy Sebastian & Paulini at the closing mass in front of half a million pilgrims.
About the new album, Andrew De Silva says, ““We have rediscovered the reasons why we first formed the band. The chemistry between us and the combined skills just amaze me. It`s been great pursuing our individual goals, but there`s something really special about this group and what we create together. During our time apart we`ve acquired new skills and ideas that we bring back to the band. We have rediscovered CDB but this time with greater experience and promise. We are so excited to be back in the studio recording songs from our favourite funk artists. The Funk Sessions is CDB`s tribute to the spirit of funk - edgy, wild but always a good time.”
CDB `The Funk Sessions` will be released in October.
