Punk is dead. I don't care what the kids say at Flinders Street Station steps whilst entertaining pet rats on their shoulders circa 2012. It's dead.
Punk is what the Sex Pistols represented 35 years ago. It was Thatcher Britain and no one that didn't live through it (including me) can have any idea about the trials of the everyday working class that lead to the formation of "The Sex Pistols" and the anarchy with which they reigned. Punk isn't about signing record deals or cosying up to sycophants that want to make money out of you. However, thats exactly what the Sex Pistols have done.
The surviving Sex Pistols have signed a deal with Universal, which is preparing a 35th-anniversary edition of the group’s one and only studio album, “Never Mind the Bollocks.” Blah blah.
