Mamma mia, Abba have kept The Living End from debuting at number one on the Australian chart.
The Living End`s `White Noise` put up a mighty fine battle to debut just behind the Mamma Mia soundtrack after selling 11706 units to Mamma Mia`s 13086.Abba had a double dose of the top 10 with Abba Gold sitting at number four with a further 4595 slipping over the counter and down the internet pipes.
There was some good news for The Living End. They reigned supreme in their home state of Victoria, selling 4017 units out of the southern state compared to Mamma Mia`s 2905.
The Living End also had the number one album in Western Australia beating Mamma Mia 1130 units to 952.
Living End fans can blame NSW, Queensland and South Australia for blocking their favourite band from the overall number one.
Other debuts on the Australian chart this week included British India `Thieves` at number 5, John Mellencamp`s `Life, Death, Love and Freedom` at 21, Nine Inch Nails `The Slip` at number 22, Dandy Warhols `Earth to Dandy Warhols` at 25 and Muph & Plutonic `And Then Tomorrow Came` at 46.
