The original four members of R.E.M. reformed over the weekend to be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame.
The black tie event saw 1500 people watch the band perform their 1986 tune 'Begin The Begin' from the album 'Life's Rich Pageant', which was introduced by singer Michael Stipe's quip "This is going to be loud!"The band continued as a three piece after drummer Bill Berry left in 1995 after suffering a brain aneurysm. Berry retired and now lives on a farm in Georgia.
Others inducted on the night include The Allman Brothers, Dallas Austin, Jermaine Dupree and the late Felice Bryant.
