Marianne Faithfull expected to make a full recovery after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
French doctors have told the 59-year-old that her chances of recovery are extremely high, as the cancer has been diagnosed in its earliest stages.The raspy-voiced vocalist, actress and one-time girlfriend of Mick Jagger said in a statement, "I have absolute faith and confidence in my fantastic medical team and of course I will be well again, if not better than ever." She went on to assure fans that her postponed world tour will go ahead next year, and that it "will be one big celebration".
Faithfull's spokesman Rob Partridge said, "The disease has been quickly discovered by doctors in France - where Marianne stays when not at home in Ireland - and the prognosis for a return to full health is excellent. Indeed, Marianne Faithfull is looking forward to playing the re-scheduled tour in 2007."
