Marianne Faithfull has announced that she has entered the studio to record Heroes and High Heels, the follow-up to her 2008 album Easy Come Easy Go.
Production will once again be done by Hal Willner.
Faithfull's site is a bit contradictory on the release date. The headline says the album is due Spring 2011 while the text of the announcement gives a release date of January. The latter seems a bit more believable if recording has just begun.
The album also marks the return of Faithfull the songwriter who has composed five of the six original songs on the album. There are also eight covers.
Combining rock, soul and pop sounds, "Horses and High Heels" unveils a new direction in Marianne's diverse discography.
