Australian digital delivery company Musicpoint has reported a 112% increase in usage for the first 6 months of 2008.
The first half of the year has seen Musicpoint usage to radio increase to the point of a download every 5 minutes.The company delivers digital songs for radio airplay to every radio station in Australia.
Jason Sole, Musicpoint Client Services Manager says: "The digital delivery of music has never been more embraced by radio and more economical for
record companies. In the 5 years since the launch of Musicpoint, we have developed a trust and reliability with radio programmers and the results really
speak for themselves. We're looking forward to continued growth as we launch a new-look Musicpoint in the second half of 2008".
Australian radio received the new Coldplay, Madonna and Kanye West first via Musicpoint as well as local acts Faker, The Presets, Sneaky Sound System and Gyroscope.
The company has made more than 500 songs available to radio in Australia this year.
