Gary Cherone has his old job back and 90s rock act Extreme are back at work.
Cherone was the third Van Halen singer, but has been wiped from their history in recent compilation albums. Before Van Halen, he fronted Extreme and took the band to the top of the charts worldwide with songs like 'More Than Words' and 'Hole Hearted'.
Now, Extreme are preparing for the release of their 5th album 'Saudades de Rock'.
This will be the band's first album in 13 years.
'Saudades de rock' features the original line-up of Cherone on vocals, Nuno Bettencourt of guitar and Pat Badger on bass with new drummer Kevin Figueiredo.
Extreme's biggest seller was 1990's 'Pornograffiti'. It sold 2 million in the USA.
Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt is married to Australia's Suze DeMarchi of Baby Animals.
Cherone was with Van Halen for one album only. The ill-fated "Van Halen III". Cherone stayed with the band for one year before "amicably leaving".
The new album will be released through Stomp Records on August 9.
