Uber-producer Rick Rubin has signed on to produce the next ZZ Top album.
Billy Gibbons has told BW&BK that the band will soon hit the studio to record their first new album since 2003.The last album from ZZ Top was 'Mescalero', which Gibbons produced.
The Run produced album will be the 15th studio album for the Texan rockers.
So far this year, Rubin has worked on Metallica's 'Death Magnetic', Jakob Dylan's 'Seeing Things', Neil Diamond's 'Home Before Dark', Scars On Broadway's self titled album, Weezer's red album as well as albums for Ours and The (International) Noise Conspiracy.
He has produced albums for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, Rage Against The Machine and Tom Petty.
